Wisdom teeth gone, problems abound?

My 4 wisdom teeth were removed two days ago. I was given Vicoden and it doesn't do anything. My tongue still tingles and nothing is making the swelling go down... And also, my jaw is stiched to my cheek and it is just tearing up my cheek. I have difficulties standing up because i just shake. My mother suggested i check my blood sugar and it was 57. I do not have diabetes [that i know of] although my father does and my mother is hypoglycemic... Would the loss of blood cause that? and what about the other stuff..

am i have problems or just overreacting?

Wisdom teeth gone, problems abound?
Many Oral surgeons will take out all 4 teeth if they don't think it will be that complicated of extractions. I'd say more often than not all 4 come out in one appt, usually always if you will be under general anesthesia or twihlight.

Your blood sugar is low. normal values are from 70-126. Being hypoglycemic will give symptoms much like a panic attack (anxiety, increased heart rate, sweating, confusion, irritability, etc). Your blood volume should be normal two days after an extraction and it is unlikely the blood loss was very great from removing wisdom teeth unless you have some kind coagulation disorder, but even then blood loss wouldn't be that significant.

Drink some OJ and see if you feel better once you get your blood sugar back to normal.

It might not be such a bad idea to contact your Oral surgeon to let him/her no of the reaction. They will know what to do, if not I'd suggest seeing a doctor about hypoglycemia if the symptoms persist.

Post op symptoms such as swelling usually begin to go down after 48 hours. If your pain and or swelling increase you may need to go back to the OS and see what is going on. Good luck.
Reply:I have never heard of an oral surgeon or dentist taking out all four wisdom teeth at once, bad choice. Usually they will take out one side, then a month later the other side

Are you eating alright? That may be why you are shaking..

Also why is your jaw stitched to your cheek?

I think you better go back to that doctor who did this to you and have him take a look at what he did and fix it.

You shouldn't be in this much distress.
Reply:You're having more problems than you should. Have you called and talked with the dentist or oral srugeon who did the procedure? Did they gve you steriod shots to control some of the swelling? You don't say what they did or didn't do. ... Honestly, and I do not mean to panic you at all, but call your Dr at least and get advice if they are still open today. Or go to the ER if you are feeling really bad.

Better safe than sorry....
