Ok well i've been to the dentist a few times about the wisdom teeth even the doctor to get antibiotics as at one stage there was a minor infection. Anywho, it all settled down but recently started to push through again. Only weird thing is after a few days its starting to heal up over the area and the whole is disapearing. But i have a swolen gumline and you can see its swolen slightly on the side of my face where the bruising has occured. Its really painful when i swallow food or drink something as the pain goes down my neck. I've been told they cannot take the teeth out until they move away from the nerve. However they said they are growing at an angle where they are mm away from the nerve yet they are also going to compact agins the other teeth. What should i do?
Wisdom teeth problems arggh please advice :(?

Reply:You should find a better dentist. Have them removed, a good dentist will not damage your nerves, that said, there is a risk of nerve damage every time you have your molars taken out.
In most cases the numbness from a brush against the nerves goes away after a few weeks, but sometimes it can be permanent - so you either live with the pain, or get them removed. Sometimes removal justifies the risk - particularly if they are rotting.
I had a couple of mine removed in January. Didn't hurt, was a tad uncomfortable, but no pain as such.
The likelihood of nerve damage is statistically pretty low.
Reply:goto the doctor for pain meds thats what i do there is nothing they can do unless they surgically remove them.
Reply:I'd have them out...cause if you get a REALLY bad infection it can damage the nerves in your face, your neck and ears...(been there done that...dentist told me the same thing..I said I wanna keep my hearing thank you and went to another dentist...got them out...all 4 were wrapped around my jaws and I was told it would damage the nerves in my mouth...but it didn't happen. The mouth and lips still work...as do my ears...)
Reply:Go to a dentist. remove the wisdom tooth.
Reply:you shud get it removed....period
Reply:Forget the dentist. Seek an oral surgeon. They are your best bet and if they can't pull them they can tell you how to deal with the pain. Good luck
