Is pain in neck and shoulder in any way related to wisdom teeth problems?

If you have infected or impacted wisdom teeth, that can result in pressure on certain nerves and the pain can appear to travel to another location along that nerve. Pain in itself can also create tension when you tighten your muscles, and that can result in muscle aches in your neck and shoulders. You need to have your wisdom teeth removed if they are impacted because the infection can become very bad and the pain unbearable.

Reply:No. Pain in neck and shoulder is not related to wisdom teeth problems. I feel this pain may be related to some muscular pain because of carrying heavy lugguage on one shoulder.
Reply:I can say it definitely does from my own experience. When I had my root canal in November I was explaining my pain. I was told there are three nerves that all hook up so yes, it is related. I am still experiencing pain (the tooth ended up being extracted) in my neck and shoulders, so this is definitely true. Once your dental problems are fixed, so should the pain. I take Tylenol and use stuff like Ben-Gay or Tiger Balm for the pain and have my husband give me massages to help. Believe me, I know your pain.
