Problems with teeth, what does this mean for me?

Hello, I just saw my dentist and he said I have 2 teeth with "buckles" under them, so I have to get 2 fillings, then my wisdom teeth removed, and then he said I have an extra tooth coming in behind one of my wisdom teeth and referred to it as a canine tooth. Is that unusual? Are these procedures usually excruciating? What should I expect? It's been so long since I've seen a dentist, that's why I don't know. I've never had any problems with my teeth before this LOL. Thanks!

"Buckles under them..." LOL. Sometimes we dentists forget to speak plain English to our patients instead of dentalese.

The buccal surface of a tooth is the side facing your cheek or lip. I'm sure what he was saying is that you have cavities on this part of the tooth and need fillings there.

These are usually some of the easiest fillings to do. You will be fine. I hope that helps some.
Reply:I don't know what "buckles" are, but fillings don't hurt. Your mouth will be numb. An oral surgeon usually removes wisdom teeth, and the patient goes under anesthesia. I f your teeth have already come through the gums you shouldn't have to go under. A canine tooth is like the ones in front. the pointy ones. It is unusual, but not unheard of. Don't have to much anxiety. You're not in that bad of shape.
Reply:Some dentists are not to be trusted. Go to another one if you have insurance. See what he says. Dentists need clients. If you are young chance is you never had problems with teeth before. And what is "buckles" and why u need fillings for them? He means caries? And if its caries its not under its inside the tooth. wisdom teeth are not big problem unless they hurt. and they dont need to be removed as soon as possible. Because wisdom teeth are all the way back in the mouth its hard to beush them and they go bad faster than other teeth and spread caries to surrounding teeth.
