Hi, please tell me what is the reason of tooth yellowing %26amp; scaling (Just upper half of teeth) problem?
Did you mean staining of your teeth? First of all, you should be brushing horizontally, focusing on only 2 teeth at a time, kind of vibrate the toothbrush. It should be at a 45 degree angle towards the gums. End each section with a brush stroke away from the gums. The bristles should always be half on the tooth and half on the gums. IT should take you at least 2 minutes to brush your teeth. Time yourself, most people do not brush long enough.

Have you started using any new products? Rinses? Or have you started drinking more coffee, tea or sodas? Any of these could be causing staining. But usually if you are brushing correctly the stain will be minimal.

I would recommend seeing your dentist and hygienist and have them take a look. Could be you need to see the hygienist more often, or could be something else. Better safe than sorry.

Also if the stain is there already, you will need to have your teeth professionally cleaned to remove it at this point. Don't try to remove it yourself, other than brushing properly. You can do more damage if you start to brush too hard.

Reply:The yellowing is probably from drinking or eating things that stain. Like coffee is real bad about staining teeth. The hard stuff is tartar most likely. Make sure you get all the paste out of your mouth when you rinse, and floss or use those brushes between the gums. Not only are they healthy but they will make your breath smell better. Toothpaste sometimes leaves residue. Also, some medications will stain your teeth, like tetracyline.
Reply:Do you smoke? Drink coffee? These are the causes of tooth discoloration.Try to get a battery operated tooth brush and use a toothpaste that removes teeth discoloration. If it doesn't help go and see your dentist.
