Tooth problems!?

Between my two back teeth on the left hand side I have a really bad pain. It's not there until I bite down on my teeth, but when I do it's unbearable! I've seen my dentist and she said that nothing's wrong, but it's been like this for a week. She put two fillings in, but on other teeth.

Do you think it could be due to grinding my teeth which I do subconsciously? Any other explanations and tips to make the pain go away?

Thanks!

Tooth problems!?
i think u should ask another dentist
Reply:Wisdom teether are impacted. Go get them ripped out before they ruin the rest of them.
Reply:See another dentist.
Reply:You could get a mouth guard to wear at night. That could protect from grinding. And maybe make the pain go away. Whisky helps too!
Reply:I had the same problem years ago, and it ended up being a small hairline fracture on my tooth. once they fixed it all the pain went away.
Reply:Are you sure you dont have something stuck in there? Maybe get a second opinion.
Reply:It def can be from teeth grinding...get a new dentist and a night guard for your mouth to prevent teeth grinding...This happened to my friends sis
Reply:It could be a piece of food stuck below the gum line. You could have gotten a periodontal pocket, which is essentially a divet in the gum line, caused by eating sharp food, over-flossing, or over brushing. The best bet is to have a good cleaning, and if that doesn't work, as your dentist for a topical cream to help desenstize the area.
Reply:I had this some years ago and it turned out to be an impacted wisdom tooth. It didn't go away until the tooth blocking it was taken out. Ask your Dentist to do an X-Ray.
Reply:YES! I had this same exact problem...the dentist filed down the tooth that was coming into contact with it and it doesn't hurt any more. Go to the dentist and tell him/her exactly what's happening because it will just get worse. Have an x-ray done and have your bite checked out, it is probably uneven like mine. Also afterwards you might get a mouthpiece for bruxism. (nighttime teeth grinding)
Reply:I would get a new dentist asap. Who knows what the problem is. Probably a crack tooth which would require a crown. I would definitly get a second opinion.

Good Luck
Reply:I think that you might want to go back to the dentist. If she still doesn't see any thing wrong, you could try buying something like the mouth guards that are used in sports to try to prevent grinding your teeth. It is possible that the pain is coming from that but I would be sure that you don't have an infected tooth.
Reply:I have the exact same problem, I want to know what it is! I hope your pain goes soon!
Reply:Using a natural remedy is the oldest form of medicine, and a natural remedy is still considered by many to be the best way to treat the body. Your natural remedy works with the body, and may not cause health problems associated with unnatural products. Simply put, natural remedy treatments are natural ways to better health.
Reply:I had something similar several years ago. It turned out my bite was wrong and I was biting too hard because one of the filings was slightly too much. The dentist burred the filing down a bit and I was fine afterwards. Apparently there was uneven wear on the filing which told him this was the problem.

Mind you, it could also be due to you grinding your teeth when you are asleep and loosening a tooth. I've done that too.

A decent dentist shouldn't just ignore problems like this ...go back and insist she has another look. If she refuses change your dentist.

Try rubbing 'oil of cloves' on the tooth...tastes horrible but works for a bit. It does need to be the oil and not clove essence.
