My dentist is pressuring me for a year to get my wisdom teeth pull out, yet they don't give me any problems.

I feel uncomfortable to go see knowing she will lecture me again about the potential denger to keep them. I am from Europe and this practice is uncomon there. I study internet to get some answers wheter it is a good idea to pull them out or not. Looks like 50/50. Some dentists are totally against it for logical reasons bud I do see also her point. This procedure is coastly and very painful also problems are common with infections of the bone and gum. Can anyone throw me a bone??

I like my dentist and want to stay in her hands.

it's a good idea to get them removed to avoid future mouth problems. i had mine out in july and it wasn't bad at all. you are sore for a week, but as long as you take care of yourself, you will be fine.

have you told her about how it's not common to get wisdom teeth removed in europe? maybe she'll understand how you feel, and lessen the pressure she's been putting on you to get them out.

good luck, either way!
Reply:I am 50 years old and still have my wisdom teeth, if they are not bothering you, I would never think about taking them out. I had a dentist recommend me getting mine out, I changed dentist.
Reply:I am from Europe also and you are right, they don't pull those teeth unless it is necessary. Three of mine were pulled because of problems, one is still there. I think that your dentist only wants money. I would get a second opinion and change dentists. Some dentist see only dollar signs and don't really care about their patients. Go on the net and do some research on wisdom teeth.

Good luck!
