Saxophone and teeth problem?

When I play my sax now I get teeth pain, all uppers and all lowers around the roots and sometimes it will feel like all my molars and bicuspids have tooth ache on one side. It stops after a couple of hours after playing, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if so is there a product that helps?

Also I just got over stomatosis (sp) -- a virus infection of the mouth and all my cheeks, tounge and gums felt like they were burning and it was very difficult to eat. My doctor said the whole inside of my mouth was inflamed. But the stomatosis has been gone for a good three weeks now, yet I still have this problem when I play the sax.

Any suggestions?

Saxophone and teeth problem?
If you had a virus infection and you played your instrument, make sure you throw away your reed and chemically wash your mouthpiece (maybe some alcohol). If this pain is a recent phenomenon, then it is probably linked to your infection. Make sure that you give it a few weeks before you pick your sax up as it could agitate your oral cavities and make it more prone to an infection. Next, talk to a dentist and make sure that you are healthy to play again. It could just be sensitive teeth because of your recent illness.
Reply:I never had that problem when I palyed the Sax but If you have a problem you should talk to a dentist about it.
Reply:I would guess they are related. And it may take some time for all of the inflamation to go down and inturn for the muscles to regain their former strength. I would also check your technique and make sure it hasn't changed to compensate for being sick. And if that doesn't help see a dentist, the sickness may have caused some damage to the roots of your teeth.
